Let the good times roll... NOPE!

Wow, I was so optimistic with my last post... oh they will go down for bedtime and all will be right with the world... NOPE!

BIG FAT NOPE!

Question for other mom's (especially if children are of the male persuasion), does closing your eyes real tight, sticking fingers in your ears and going lalalalalalallalalallalalallala make things disappear.... or at least make all the world right again????... cause if it does, that is basically the only thing I haven't tried yet and I don't mind looking silly and giving it a whurl!! Is there any other dance or other tantrum throwing fit that a mommy can throw that would work? Seriously, that is the point it has reached around here.

AND THERE IS STILL NO ICE CREAM IN THIS HOUSE... oh the HUMANITY!

Cute post. I can just see you plugging up your ears saying lalalallalalalalal. Here's a couple of suggestions...

Have you tried being real with them? I mean, letting your guard down, and letting them know your emotions in an appropriate manner? Parenting With Grace by the Popcaks have some cute examples of ways parents expressed sadness and anger about their children's behavior. (Remember, you love them, not their behavior)

I'd also recommend reading it (I think you have it, I remember youre the one that recommended it to me) for preventive tips.

I would not rule out calling their show! :)

Lastly, been there, done that, though I usually retreat to the bathroom and flip through private school catalogs when she gets like that. :)

Love,

littlebit

Yuck! I have no advice, but I have been there before. When Daddio returns home you must get yourself out of the house, even if it is just to go to the store to get the ice cream (although I have a feeling he will not step foot in the house before picking some up himself). I hope today has been a better one. Sorry I have nothing else to add.
