I mentioned before that MommaLlama get addicted to stupid movies. She recently rented a movie called "Strange Wilderness". It's one of those dumb teenage movies that's supposed to be so shocking and absurd that it makes you laugh. Sadly, it was just plain stupid. Terrible story line, terrible acting. I'm serious, this wasn't just one of those "I'm offended and I refuse to laugh" kind of movies. We have a pretty high tolerance for those. We've seen Super Bad, Napolean Dynamite, Meet The Spartans, even Borat. We would never let our kids watch them, and certainly would never pay to go to the theater to see them, but I admit that we are always curious enough to put them on our Netflix list. But, this one was truly just so BAD that we couldn't imagine why anyone would be amused.
So, it finally happened. She shut it off halfway through and did not finish it. I had already taken a short nap and then got on the computer to do something else. I assumed she would see it through to the bitter end. But amazingly, she turned it off.

I think we too have only not finished a movie abotu 3 times. It has to be truly bad. Thanks for the warning!sorry we had to bail las tnight. Kaden has a yucky runny nose, hopefully just allergies but who knows!
I find this post rather funny considering yesterday's phone conversation with Mommallama :).
We couldn't finish Borat. Haven't seen SuperBad, but I'm considering adding it to our list. And Napoleon Dynamite is awesome. Have you watched the extra scene after the credits?
I agree with Nichole and think Napoleon Dynamite is awesome because it's hilarious. But I know how you feel about just not getting some movies. I feel that way about Best In Show. Turk thinks it's funny now that we have dogs and he actually watches that competition but I still shake my head and leave the room with that one.
For the record I really liked Napoleon Dynamite, and HATED Borat (I left the room after about 30 minutes in because I was completely disgusted).
Never heard of Strange Wilderness. I don't even want to touch Borat. And I like Napolean Dynamite more than some (like James) but not as much as some die hard fans.
You want to hear something really lame? I own the Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack! But ONLY because one of my most favorite songs as a teenager was The Promise by When In Rome and you had to buy the whole album on itunes. I used to own When In Rome's c.d. but it's long gone.
Best in Show is funny, but Waiting for Guffman is the best. A Mighty Wind is also very entertaining. We're big Christopher Guest fans around here.
