Sleeping...

Or lack there of... A few weeks ago we had one GLORIOUS week of sleep. He would go to sleep around 10pm and not wake up till around 5:30am when our alarm was going off. Then he spent a weekend with my parents, and since then he hasn't slept a single night all the way through. This normally would be that big of a deal if would have gone back to his normal 4 hour interval at night... nope, he is now up every TWO HOURS! I'm not sure why this is the case, I guess I'm blaming it on the fact that he is teething and is pretty congested... but goodness gracious, I'm really starting to run out of steam!

Oh, and another weird thing... he used to be able to sleep in the most chaotic of noises... now just the A/C kicking on will startle him out of slumber! This has lead to naps during the day only last about 30 minutes tops. Really only way to get anything more than that is for him to sleep on me!

Not that I would change anything about the little guy, but I kind of thought that since we are coming up on his 5th month we would have moved a little further down the sleep curve by now!

That's the thing with babies... just when you get them settled into a good routine and you think you have them figured out, they change the game and you are back at square one! Prayers for you all!

Yeah, what Charlotte said. Only two of my five started sleeping through the night before six months, and with our oldest it is b/c we did the cry-it-out method when she was about three months old because I was going back to work. Just take it one day at a time and take advantage of the flexibility you have as a homeschooling family. You'll get used to it. :)

I wish I had some good advice but alas, all I have is empathy. I will say that my babe does not do well with changes in settings. A few days at the beach set him off for about a week afterwards. Babies don't like change. And then there's the teething struggles...

Night before last he only got up TWICE!! Woohoo... then last night he only woke up once! Hopefully we are on the road to SLEEP (until something else happens)!
